Chris Lassiter, associate professor of biology from Roanoke College, joins the lab as a visiting scientist. He’s spending a semester on sabbatical in our lab and we’re excited to have him.

Check out Time Off for Dad, an article by Susan Gaidos about paternity leave for postdocs and faculty. Universities should recognize the importance of family and provide formal policies on paternity leave. However, what was not emphasized in the article is that for postdocs having a supportive advisor is crucial.
